People Want to Know

Ever since the first time The Alaska Experiment aired on the Discovery Channel in April of 2008, people have been asking us lots of questions like...

1) How did you get on the show?
2) Did all that really happen the way it was portrayed?
3) What did you eat? Did they give you food?
4) How long were you really out there?
5) What did you do with your time?
6) Why did you hike to get ice for water when there was snow all around you?
7) Where you scared? How cold did it get?
8) Was Sofia conceived there? :) (Yes, people still ask that all the time.)

Season 2 of The Alaska Experiment aired this year but it was QUITE different than ours. However it did bring up a lot of discussion and debate about our experience and now Discovery is re-airing our show at 11pm Eastern time every night.

Now we are working on writing a book about our experience. We were out in the wild for 3 months and unfortunately there were only 7 episodes (maybe 2.5 hours in total of us) that showed how we lived. There was soooooo much more to our story so we thought we would share it with anyone who was still interested.

We hope to release an E-book, loads of photos, and a 40 minute short movie that we wrote, starred in, filmed, edited and produced. I can't say exactly when it will come out but I'm hoping by Sofia's birthday on September 7. (Which is exactly the anniversary date of the day we left to Alaska in 2007!)

If you are interested in getting an email about when the book and movie are release, send me a line and I will put you on the list. bernicepierson@hotmail.com

Happy Independence Day!

Sofia's first Independence Day! We loaded her up in the bike trailer for the first time and rode the wild streets of Huntington Beach!

Mommy's "cruiser" is a Singlespeed Niner! :)

Sofia likes the ride!

4th of July in Huntington Beach! Bikes, bikes and more bikes!

We hopped off the bikes for a little while to enjoy the parade.

Sofia got a bird's eye view!

Sofia's first time at the beach. We couldn't stay too long because she just wanted to eat the sand.

Sofia's first dip in the ocean. The water was only about 61 degrees so it was a quick dip.

Sofia had a busy 4th of July. She was worked!
